The SkillsUSA Georgia State Leadership and Skills Conference (SLSC) is coming up in February! Some competitions require a state qualifier because we have limited spots available at the conference. There are a few different ways to qualify for SLSC. This page is dedicated to state-qualifying exams and the wild card test students can take to earn a coveted spot at SLSC!

Important Dates

Jan. 13 | Testing Window Open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Jan. 14 | Testing Window Open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Jan. 15 | Technical Exam Winners Announced by 8 p.m.
Jan. 16 | Wild Card Exam Winners Announced 8 p.m.

Eligibility
  • Students must be registered SkillsUSA members

  • Students must be enrolled in an eligible course/pathway

  • Schools may have only one (1) student per school take the exam per competition

Exams Offered

The following technical exams are content-specific exams based on the competition's technical standards. 

The Top 4 will Advance to SLSC:

Aviation Maintenance Technology
Baking and Pastry Arts
Culinary Arts
Restaurant Service

The Top 16 will Advance to SLSC:

Automotive Brakes
Automotive Electronics/Ignition

Wild Card Exam
What is the Wild Card Exam?

The Wild Card Exam is a general SkillsUSA knowledge test, similar to the Professional Development Test (Study Guide). The test scores will be used to fill slots that did not fill at Region Championships due to a lack of participation in other regions. In other words, this test could be your ticket to State Leadership and Skills Conference!

Eligibility
  • Students must be registered SkillsUSA members

  • Students must have competed at Region Championships in the competition they wish to qualify in

  • Regions 2/3 - Students may take the Wild Card exam in advance of their Region Championships

  • All team members in team competitions must take the exam, and the team's scores will be averaged

This list will be updated after each Region Championships concludes and final placings are submitted to the state office.

2 spots - Prepared Speech
0 spots - Quiz Bowl
1 spots - T-Shirt Design
